THE HISTORY OF MAGENTA PICTURES

Magenta Pictures was formed in 2008 by film director Stuart Graham. Stuart’s first film, A Rolling Stone Gathers A Moss, was made in 2007. It is a quirky, semifictional and very British black comedy.

Following on from this Magenta Pictures went on to produce a new and exciting science fiction thriller called Project Magenta. Written by Jon Brownridge, it is a modern love potion story. Project Magenta features a talented cast and was made on an almost non-existent budget. And, of course, Magenta Pictures derived its name from Project Magenta.

The latest offering from Magenta Pictures is The Doomsday Satellite. A sci-fi thriller about advanced alien technology recovered from a UFO crash site and a megalomaniac's attempts to steal it. Again, this film was shot on a very small budget but with great success.

"As filmmakers, we can show where a person's mind goes, as opposed to theatre, which is more to sit back and watch it."

" But a writer's contribution is literary and a film is not literary. When you take that stuff off the page, and cast the people who are going to fit into those roles, that's what being a director is."

~ Taylor Hackford
